Costs can vary widely depending on the size of your system, the complexity of your roof layout, and your typical energy usage throughout the year. iSP Solar offers personalized consultations, custom system design recommendations, and clear, detailed pricing so you can choose the right solution with confidence.

Yes. iSP Solar (Ion Solar Pros) installs reliable battery storage systems for both new solar installations and existing solar systems, making it easy to add backup power and improve overall energy independence.

Critter guards are not required, but they are highly recommended. In Danbury and throughout Fairfield County, squirrels, birds, and other wildlife can nest under solar panels and damage wiring or components. Installing critter guards helps protect your system, prevent costly repairs, and safeguard your long-term solar investment.

Yes. Many homes in Danbury still have aging roofs or outdated electrical panels, which is why iSP carefully evaluates both before any solar installation begins. Our team checks roof condition, structural readiness, and electrical capacity to make sure your system is built on a safe, reliable foundation. If improvements are needed, we can coordinate solar-ready roof replacement, complete electrical upgrades, and a custom system design sized to your home—helping ensure dependable, long-term performance for years to come.

Yes—battery storage can be installed alongside your solar system or added at a later date. iSP offers professional battery retrofit services in Danbury, making it easy for homeowners to upgrade an existing solar setup with reliable backup power protection. In many cases, a battery can also be installed for homes that don’t currently have solar, giving you energy resilience during outages and greater control over your electricity use. That said, while batteries can be added to existing systems, installation is typically more cost-effective when it’s completed at the same time as your solar system. Bundling the projects can reduce labor and electrical upgrade costs while ensuring everything is designed to work together from day one

If your solar energy system suddenly stops producing power, iSP is ready to help with fast, reliable support. Our team offers thorough diagnostics to pinpoint the issue, professional inverter replacement when needed, and complete solar repair services to get your system back online. We also specialize in supporting “orphan” solar systems—installations originally completed by providers that are no longer in business—so you’re never left without expert service.

On their own, solar panels will automatically shut off during a power outage to protect utility crews and keep the grid safe. But when you pair your solar system with battery storage, your home can keep running and you’ll have reliable backup power when the grid goes down in Danbury and nearby communities. A properly sized battery can support essential loads—or even more of your household—depending on your goals and usage. Talk with an iSP Solar Energy Specialist to review capacity planning, understand pricing, and take advantage of the generous incentives currently available for qualified homeowners.

Solar systems are designed to be low-maintenance, but regular inspections, occasional cleaning, and ongoing performance monitoring can make a big difference in keeping energy production at its best. Catching minor issues early helps prevent costly downtime and supports long-term system reliability. iSP Solar provides professional maintenance services such as detailed system inspections, panel cleaning, and performance monitoring to maximize output, extend equipment life, and protect your solar investment.

The average solar payback period in Danbury typically ranges from 6 to 10 years, depending on several factors. The size of the system, roof orientation, sun exposure, and overall energy usage all play an important role in how quickly the system offsets your electricity consumption. South-facing roofs with minimal shading generally produce more energy and reach payback faster, while larger systems designed to meet higher energy needs may take slightly longer but provide greater long-term value. Ion Solar Pros designs each system specifically for your property to maximize performance and optimize long-term return.

Yes, solar projects in Danbury do need permits and utility sign-off before the system can be installed and turned on. This typically involves obtaining building and electrical permits through the City of Danbury, along with securing interconnection approval from Eversource. iSP Solar (Ion Solar Pros) manages the full permitting and interconnection steps for you. We work closely with Danbury’s Building Department and Eversource to keep your project on track. We secure permits and approvals, ensure the installation meets code, and connect your system to the grid safely—without delays or extra hassle.

Yes. Eversource provides 1-to-1 net metering for eligible solar systems in Danbury. This means that for every excess kilowatt-hour (kWh) of electricity your solar system sends back to the grid, you receive a credit equal to the full retail rate of electricity. These credits can be used later when your system produces less energy, such as at night or during winter months. Ion Solar Pros designs solar systems to maximize net metering benefits and handles the utility interconnection process with Eversource to ensure your system qualifies and operates properly.

The full solar process in Danbury typically takes 4 to 12 weeks from contract signing to utility approval (Permission to Operate, or PTO). The timeline includes system design, permitting with the City of Danbury, utility interconnection approval with Eversource, installation, inspections, and final activation.

Ion Solar Pros’ commitment ensures your system will be installed—meaning the panels are on your roof—within 90 days, and most projects are finished far sooner. On the scheduled install date, most home solar setups can be completed in as little as one day, while larger arrays or projects that add battery backup typically require 2 to 3 days. Once installation is complete, the next phase is the final inspection by the City of Danbury Building Department, followed by approval from Eversource and issuance of your Permission to Operate (PTO), so your system can start generating power.
